GFE for iOS7, Version 3.1.3 Customers 

  • We recommend that users upgrade to iOS8 or iOS9 to enjoy all of the benefits and continued improvements to GFE for iOS moving forward.
  • GFE (v3.1.3) will be the last version of Good for Enterprise to support iOS7.
  • After the End of Support date, GFE v3.2.0 will be posted in the App Store for general availability for devices running iOS8 and above and will not work with iOS7.
  • iOS7 devices may still download and use v3.1.3, however from that point forward there will no longer be client software updates made to that version

iOS 7 Device Support

The upcoming releases of the following products will not support devices running iOS 7, nor will they support iPad2, iPad mini (original), and iPhone 4s:

  • Good Work v2.0
  • Good Access v2.5
  • Good Connect v2.4
  • Good Share v3.2.3
  • Good For Salesforce1 v1.8

 

Those devices running iOS 7 will not have the ability to upgrade to the above application versions, however their existing application versions will continue to work fine. Users wishing to take advantage of the latest features and functionality in the above versions should upgrade to the latest version of iOS, then upgrade their applications.

Good Work supports cloud or on premise deployment models, and delivers the business-class collaboration today’s knowledge workers need.

For Fixmo EMP MDM customers wishing to continue to use mobile device management, it is recommended that you migrate to Good MDM. Good MDM provides comprehensive device management capabilities including policy control, device configuration, jailbreak/root detection and more for iOS and Android. In addition, it provides more specific policies for Samsung Knox including system integrity protection and boot-time and run-time protection. Built on the Good Dynamics platform, it provides an easy path to grow into mobile application management, mobile content management and more as needed.

Fixmo AppZone customers wishing to continue to have a cloud-hosted enterprise app store should consider moving to Good AppCentral. Good AppCentral provides a consumer-like enterprise app store experience for end users with the granular policy controls IT needs.

For Fixmo Integrity Services customers, Good Technology provides jailbreak and OS compliance in all Good-secured apps.

Good Technology will not be replacing functionality for the Fixmo Sentinel product supporting RIM BlackBerry 5.

End of Life Notice: Good for Enterprise support for Amazon devices

Date: September 11th, 2014

Problem:
The release of Good for Enterprise® in the Amazon store is an older version 2.0.0.233 which Good® will no longer be supporting due to certain changes in product composition. As a result, Good Technology will be ending support for Good for Enterprise version 2.0.0.233, ONLY for Amazon devices by September 26th 2014 and will pull out the application from the Amazon store.

Impact:
Good Technology currently has a very small number of users of Good for Enterprise on Amazon devices. These existing Good for Enterprise users may continue to use Version 2.0.0.233 of the app as long as it is not deleted from their devices, and it should continue to operate. However, once deleted, users will not be able to reinstall any (including current) version of Good for Enterprise on Amazon devices. New users or new devices will also be unable to download Version 2.0.0.233 of the Good for Enterprise app on Amazon devices. There will be no update to the Good for Enterprise release on Amazon store.

Customer plan:
Good is currently working on a next generation collaboration app, which is based on the Good Dynamics Secure Mobility platform. This app is currently in Beta and will be generally available by the end of Q3. Support for Amazon devices with this next-generation collaboration app is currently on the roadmap. Further dates of availability of the next generation collaboration app for Amazon devices will be communicated when available.

iOS End of Software Update for iOS v4.x

The next release of Good for Enterprise – iOS will not support devices running iOS 4.x. As a result, Good for Enterprise – iOS v2.0.3 is the last client software version that will support devices running iOS 4.x.

What this means for your users on iOS 4.x devices:

  • These users will not be able to upgrade or install new versions of Good for Enterprise – iOS until they upgrade iOS.
  • These users can continue to run the current version of Good for Enterprise – iOS v2.0.3 while available through the App Store.
  • If available, these users should upgrade to the latest iOS version: www.apple.com/ios/
  • Users who choose to remain on iOS 4.x will no longer receive automated update notifications for Good for Enterprise from the App Store.
  • Good will continue to offer technical support for Good for Enterprise on supported iOS 4.x devices to paid support customers. Devices are typically supported 18 months after initial certification. For specific support end dates, please refer to the Supported Devices tool in the Good Monitoring Portal.

The next release of Good for Enterprise – iOS will not support the legacy Apple devices as listed below. As a result, Good for Enterprise – iOS v2.0.3 is the last client software version that will be supported on these devices.

Devices which cannot upgrade beyond Good for Enterprise – iOS v 2.0.3:

  • iPhone (1st generation)
  • iPhone 3G
  • iPod Touch (1st generation)
  • iPod Touch (2nd generation)

 

What this means for your users on these devices:

  • These users will not be able to upgrade or install new versions of Good for Enterprise.
  • New users on these devices will not be supported.
  • These users can continue to run the current version of Good for Enterprise – iOS v2.0.3 while available through the App Store.
  • Users who choose to remain on one of the listed devices will no longer receive automated update notifications for Good for Enterprise from the App Store.
  • Good will continue to offer technical support for Good for Enterprise on these devices to existing paid support customers. Devices are typically supported 18 months after initial certification. What this means for your users on Android OS 2.2 devices:

  • These users will no longer receive update notifications and will not be able to upgrade to new versions of Good for Enterprise – Android released to Google Play.
  • These users can continue to run the current version of Good for Enterprise – Android v2.0.2.238 and Good Mobile Access (GMA) for Android 2.2 v2.0.0.26 available in Google Play.
  • If available, these users should upgrade the device OS to a newer version. Most Android devices receive an automatic notification when an OS upgrade is available for download over-the air. However, some devices require a tethered upgrade.

Lotus Domino Messaging Server v.6.5 (June 2011)

This is a notification on our end of software update (ESU) plans for Lotus Domino Messaging Server v.6.5. If your company has migrated to a newer version of Lotus Domino Messaging Server (e.g. Lotus Domino Messaging Server v.7.0 or v.8.0), please disregard this notice.

Our end-of-software update plans for supporting Lotus Domino Messaging Server v.6.5 include:

Effective March, 2011, Good for Enterprise software release will no longer be compatible with Lotus Domino Messaging Server v.6.5.

  • Good Mobile Messaging Server v.6.3.1.14 is the last server software version that is compatible with Lotus Domino Messaging Server v.6.5.
  • The Good for Enterprise clients for iOS and Android are backward compatible with Lotus Domino Messaging Server v.6.5. However, new features in the clients will not be supported.

 

Good Technical Support will continue for Good for Enterprise for Lotus Domino Messaging Server v.6.5 as long as you are running Good Mobile Messaging Server for Domino v.6.3.1.14 or earlier.

As you may know, IBM officially ended technical support for Domino Server v.6.5 in April 2009. Even though Good Mobile Messaging server for Domino v.6.3.1.14 and earlier supports Domino Server v.6.5, we strongly encourage you to migrate to the latest version of Lotus Domino Messaging Server to take advantage of the many enhancements that are available.

Windows Mobile 6.x and Good for Enterprise – Symbian

This is a notification on our end-of-life plans for Good for Enterprise – Windows Mobile 6.x and Good for Enterprise – Symbian.

Our end-of-life plans for supporting Good for Enterprise – Windows Mobile 6.x and Good for Enterprise – Symbian include:

  • Technical support for Good for Enterprise – Windows Mobile 6.x and Good for Enterprise – Symbian will end on February 1, 2013. Maintenance and software downloads will also be unavailable.

Note: The Good for Enterprise apps on Windows Mobile and Symbian devices will continue to work beyond the EOL date. However, support and maintenance will cease at the EOL date. Should issues arise, customers will be advised to migrate to an existing Good supported platform.

Android End-of-Software Updates for Android 1.6 Devices

As a customer who has been identified with users running Good for Enterprise on Android 1.6 (aka Donut) devices, please be advised of Good's software update and technical support phase-out timeline described below.

The next release of Good for Enterprise – Android will not support devices running the Android 1.6 OS. As a result, Good for Enterprise – Android v1.6.5 is the last client software version that will support devices running Android 1.6 OS.

What this means for your users on Android 1.6 devices:

  • These users will no longer receive update notifications and will not be able to upgrade to new versions of Good for Enterprise – Android released to the Android Market.
  • These users can continue to run the current version of Good for Enterprise – Android (v1.6.5) available in the Android Market.
  • If available, these users should upgrade the device OS to a newer version. Most Android devices receive an automatic notification when an OS upgrade is available for download over-the air. However, some devices require a tethered upgrade.
  • These users will no longer see Good for Enterprise in the Android Market. If users need to install Good for Enterprise on devices running Android OS v1.6 after we release the next version of our app, they will need to download the Good for Enterprise application from the following location: www.welcometogood.com/gfe_android/gfe-signed-aligned.apk. AT&T devices will not be able to install Good for Enterprise as AT&T does not allow sideloads.

 

Good will continue to offer technical support for Good for Enterprise on supported Android 1.6 devices to its paid support customers. Our end-of-life plans for supporting Exchange 5.5 include:

December 1, 2006: Good Mobile Messaging server and client software released after this date will no longer be compatible with Exchange 5.5.

End-of-Software Updates for Cingular 8125

This is a notification on our end-of-software plans for the Cingular 8125 and variant devices.

The Good Mobile Messaging 5.0.4 client software does not support the Cingular 8125 and variant devices. As a result, Good 5.0 Service Release 1 (version 5.0.3) is the last client software version that will support these handhelds.

If you have Good Mobile Messaging or Good Mobile Intranet users on Cingular 8125 devices, those users' handhelds will need to stay on version 5.0.3 of Good Mobile Messaging and Intranet until they upgrade to a newer handheld. Please note that you will be able to upgrade your Good server to version 5.0.4 and continue running Good client version 5.0.3 on your Cingular 8125 and derivative handhelds.

Good will continue to offer technical support for Good Mobile Messaging and Intranet to its support customers for version 5.0.3 on the Cingular 8125 through January 7, 2009. The Cingular 8125 belongs to the HTC Wizard family of devices, and is also sold under the following names:
